Hello Springtime- layout for March 31st

Hi Thursday Layout Chicks-

For today's layout I made my own banner and flag embellishments- they are so fun and they remind me of the breezy sunny days of Springtime. - okay maybe that is my fantasy spring. In Seattle lately it has been the torrential rain of springtime :)

The paper is by Echo Park Paper Company, their Springtime line, lots of beautiful patterns. I also used their sticker letters- which I love because they have a fancy big font and then 2 smaller fonts, all in different coordinating colors.

Layout for March 24, 2011

Two of a Kind

This layout says it all. My husband John and our first dog Gecko were really two of a kind. Yesterday, March 24th would have been Gecko's 15th birthday so I thought it would be fitting to do a layout about the two of them.

I used Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers paper line, which is great for pet pages but also works for friendship, family, outdoors, etc. The pet related papers all have great patterns on their backside.

I added a few details with some brads and a folding technique on the title piece and the large mat. I like techniques that create a bit of texture without adding too much bulk or an expensive embellishment.

Layout for March 10 2011

This week our layout is all about camping, but really it is about mixing patterns together.


I always buy paper and then end up with a random large print piece that I like but that I don't think would work for a photo mat or page embellishment- like the map on the right page. So this is a way to work some coordinating patterns along with a fun sticker set into a great 2 page layout.

Plus guess what? The backside of the map paper is a really cute green dot, so I am going to do another page on the backside of that with my scraps- can you say thrifty?

Layout for March 3rd

Our layout this week is "I am Lucky to Have You"- I never have St Patricks Day photos, but I love the idea of doing a layout about Luck.

So my layout is a tribute to someone I feel lucky to have in my life, my husband John.
