Layout for January 27th

Hello Thursday Layout Chicks!
This week is a fun 2 pager to highlight some birthday photos. If you are thinking, holy cow- I would NEVER have pictures to put on those bright primary colors- I totally understand. So look at the layout- it is a stripe and another pattern. Imagine this done with different paper, or I was thinking that it would be gorgeous done as a wedding page with really beautiful trim where I have the black rick rack. It is a super easy one to change around.

This page was designed for some birthday snaps of my sweet pup Oskar who will be a big 2 next week (although I think that he thinks every day is his day to celebrate!).

Have a great week. I can't wait to bring you something brand new and fresh from CHA for next week!

Layout for January 20, 2011

Hello Thursday Layout Chicks!
Sorry for the late post, I was travelling home today and am just getting to my computer to send out the email.

This week is all about LOVE!!!! I am planning to put some adorable photos of my chocolate lab girl Hershey on these pages. Her pictures will look beautiful with the light pink and green patterns and cardstock. There is so much cute Valentine paper in the stores right now- oh wait or in my stash. I have a thing for buying Valentine paper with the idea that I am going to make cards (hmmm never done it) but I have a really smashing collection of paper now!

This layout is 3 different fun patterns, plus some gorgeous bits of ribbon and a few heart brads. I have done this layout many times, there is a lot of space for photos plus I like the use of the patterned papers.

So enjoy this week's layout. I promise next week I won't be posting at oh geez- it is really almost midnight? If you want to purchase a kit of this layout, it is available on the right margin of our blog.
Cheers!

Layout for January 13th

Hi Thursday Layout Chicks!

Our layout this week is all about stories. First, a little back story- on Christmas Eve my family was sitting around eating snacks (uh yeah the BEST part of Christmas Eve) and I started asking everyone about their favorite Christmas memories. So my parents started telling stories about their favorite Christmas morning memories from when they were kids, and my sister was sharing some of hers and my husband, etc etc. Okay, then I looked at my bag from Starbucks and their theme for Christmas was "Stories are gifts - Share". Hmmm. Inspirational. You could totally cut out the piece from the Starbucks bag or their holiday cup sleeve and use it on the layout if you want.

So the idea with this layout is to collect some stories, travel, holiday, birthday, just funny family stuff and write them down for your scrapbook. We are using envelopes to make pockets to tuck the stories into, and then you can put a photo on the front.

We are also using one of my favorite techniques that looks so much harder than it is, mitered corners. We are running a striped paper all the way around the layout and mitering the corners- such a fantastic looking technique.

I included a video this week with both of our techniques- it is handy to watch the mitering technique if you haven't done it before, or it has been a while.

Enjoy your pages this week!

Layout for January 6, 2010

Hi Thursday Layout Ladies

I forgot to post a preview of your layout last week, so here it is. This is a fun winter/snow layout- but as always you can really change this up to work for whatever kind of pictures that you have.

The beauty of this design is that if only uses 2 pieces of patterned paper, the perfect layout when you have just a few things leftover from a paper pack or kit that you want to use up.

I didn't do a video segment this week- but I promise to do a new technique next week with a video.

Thanks and have a great week!
Kerry
